At the ICC Region I All Chapters Meeting held on September 9, 2025, the first reading of a proposed bylaw amendment was conducted. The amendment will be brought forward for a membership vote at the next All Chapters Meeting during the ICC Annual Business Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio on October 19, 2025, at 3:30 PM (or shortly thereafter).
Proposed Amendment
The Officers of the ICC Region I Chapter are proposing to amend Section 2 of Article X of the Chapter Bylaws to reduce the length of Officers’ terms from two (2) years to one (1) year.
Background
- During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chapter Bylaws were amended to require two-year terms for each Officer to help address continuity and challenges at that time.
- The proposed change would restore the pre-Covid language, returning Officer terms to one year.
- The purpose of this amendment is to encourage greater participation on the Board by reducing the overall time commitment associated with serving as an Officer.
